Such a beautiful reflection on what can be a sometimes misunderstood card. Yes, it can be lovely and light… but The Lovers can also invite us deeper into the grittiness of love and what it means to receive it and give it, to others and ourselves.
Like you so wonderfully described, sometimes, in order to let love in, we have to surrender control. We have to release our tight grip and allow the waters of love to trickle through the cracks of our hands.
Thank you so much dear Asia for reminding me something so important that i tend to forget and to allow myself to. Surrender. And the force that lies within. I just wrote a piece on motherhood which is very very different than yours but still I do think you bring another light another power that I am thankful for… today 🩵
Ahh beautiful. I think we have the birth we want and the birth we need. They don’t always align… It took me years to realize my child gifted me with that needed rather than wanted birth, so that I would get a masterclass in lessons I needed to be the mom he needs me to be. And then the second son’s birth was the birth I wanted (for both) and in hindsight I can see I also needed - this gifted me with a masterclass in guilt over what the firstborn goes through vs the second… A lesson that comes in handy not just with their birth…
Just devouring all your writing. Such a blessing to have found your work. ❤️
Beautiful insight! First time reader here, love your style. What a gift for a mother to take solitude in nature and refill the heart’s cup. Those moments away make time with our children all the more precious…
“to love requires surrender, and to surrender requires choice.”
Mmmmmm 🙏🏻💓
So good right?

Thank you for this reminder Asia 🤍
Yessss! Thank you for this perceptive on this power-filled card Kerry.
“The part of me I am always a part of.”
“I surrender to the love—moss-covered, sunlit, entire—that is here to hold me.”
What a beautiful expression of love as surrender. Of love as healing. Of love as ongoing.
Thank you for sharing your ongoing acceptance of birth and of your story as mother, and for describing for us this love that is so large.
Thank you for being here Christianna 💗

Grateful to you and the wisdom you've gathered, and are sharing, from your own motherhood journey. We so dearly need each other on this path 💛
