Beautifully written, Asia. What courage and acceptance must be needed indeed to live where you do and where help does not always arrive quickly (how in the world got Covid there?)
It is truly moving how you describe the processing of your birthing experience. I share your pain when the planned birth ends up in the bright lights of the hospital room. But I am also glad your girl and mine had the help needed and you found such a beautiful way to transform your story into a story of light breaking in. For me it was a dream short after the birth (turned surgery) which gave me consolation. And still, it will probably need some more seasons to fully heal.
That will probably be one of the most mysterious unanswered question of my lifetime. We were so profoundly careful in the weeks leading up to her birth! I’ve come to a place of acceptance, though, around this piece of contracting COVID simply being a part of the weaving of fate, even if I don’t see the overall pattern yet.
And sending you deep care and love in these seasons of healing from dreams cut short, dreams arriving differently than we prayed for. It’s deep work, healing from birth. I’m with you there, in tenderness and love.
Thank you, Asia. It was indeed a nightly dream which gave me some answers I had grappled with 😇. Love to you and yours, too. And thank you also for your lovely business course 🙏
Lordy, your writing ...."melts me into acceptance. Into surrender. Into the intensity that is also joy, the sorrow that is also depth, the pain that is also wonder"
“Because snow days, in whatever form they come, are just another opportunity to surrender into the light that is always falling here to Earth.” A big yes yes yes. Thank you, always for your words 🤍
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing this story. As I approach my first birth myself, and am learning so much about surrender throughout the pregnancy, this really resonates. "There’s a bending that must happen to the winter." Mmm so beautiful!
Such deep learning and growing unfolding in this piece. To accept, to soften, to surrender to the flow while still holding on to ourselves but with a gentler, less stubborn grip are skills that take up a lifetime of conscious daily practice. You delivered this so beautifully ♥️
I'm inspired. I have this sense from your story that our darkest memories can be re-birthed when allowed to be opened up to the light in a state of brave surrender. Thanks. Your words are a gift.
