So well said! I feel this way constantly vis-à-vis raising babies. Knowing (or thinking we know) can get in the way of parenting and blind us to what our children really need. When we aren’t trying to prescribe a solution to a knowable problem, we can work more deeply and intuitively.
What a beautiful piece of writing, Asia, and a great exploration of yet another aspect of the Fool. I always appreciate a sobering reminder that I don't need to have it all figured out as a parent.
I adore this analogy so much Asia! I believe tarot cards have endless gifts to share with us in the realms of motherhood and parenting but none more so than the Fool. It’s both us and our children, and reveals just how much we can learn from our fresh little babes who know nothing of the world, and perhaps what we need to unlearn.
And it’s funny that I too tried to learn and plan all the things before having my daughter. But NOTHING can prepare you for that threshold moment of ‘leaping’ when birth happens, and then beyond. No amount of information will ever be able to describe it ever.
The Fool is also so much about feeling and trust that, yes we know nothing, but we’ve also totally got this 🤍
This is so gorgeous and so true. For me, this experience continued on and on because I ended up having six children. Believe me when I say that you go off the cliff every single time. And it is always worth it.

Mmm yes I feel this so deeply Ginny. Always trying to let go of prescribing a solution to all the unknowable problems... so perfectly put.

"I don't need to have it all figured out" I need that tattooed on my forearm these days. Thank you Ramona!

I love this Kerry!!! Thank you for bringing your wisdom here to this space. I am leaning into that feeling and trusting and not-knowing so deeply...

Off the cliff every single time (!)...and it's always worth it. Thank you Ayla, this truly comforts me.
Asia, these are the words I so desperately needed today. Thank you for writing and reaching us. Here’s to all the fools with open hearts. 💛
*Raising my glass with you* To all us fools.
Cheers my dear 🥂
