I love the idea of mother as ancestor altar. It's totally true, but I hadn't co sidereal it before. This summer, I first encountered the concept of the womb as a portal to the other world. These concepts seem related to me.

We celebrated our annual ancestor feast last night. My parents brought some old photos I hadn't seen before for our altar, including my grandma as a young woman (I have her eyes and eyebrows). I shared the stories of my great great grandmother and how she made the decision to immigrate. My daughters got to try their great great great great grandmother's cookie recipe (almost certainly older than that).

Blessings to you as you pass the gifts of your ancestors to your daughter.

What a deeply beautiful celebration. To eat the recipes of the ancestors...is there any more alchemical magic?? Thank you for sharing.
